Client: Hagen History Center
Location: West 6th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania
Dates: Reconstruction Complete — 2021
The San Francisco Field Office that Frank Lloyd Wright shared with Aaron Green has been reconstructed in the Hagen History Center’s Exhibit Building. Wright designed the office for himself and used it between 1951 and 1959. It continued to be used by Green and was later deconstructed and moved to the Heinz Architectural Center at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh. That exhibit was behind glass, whereas this exhibit allows visitors to become emersed in the experience. Kidder Architects led the reconstruction and staging of the exhibit.
