The structure located at 506 West 18th St. was originally constructed c. 1900. The Erie Redevelopment Authority acquired the vacant building as part of revitalization efforts in the Little Italy neighborhood.
This renovation project included creation of commercial space on the first floor and renovation of a three-bedroom apartment on the second floor. The Redevelopment Authority also purchased vacant lots on either side of the building. A new infill building was constructed to the east, at 504 West 18th St., with commercial space on the ground floor and two one-bedroom apartments on the second floor. The vacant lot to the west was converted into a parking lot for tenants and customers.
